Limits and Rules¶

Accounts and tags¶

	Limit or rule
Number of accounts	No fixed limit; the app is designed and tested for 500 accounts and 25 tags
Account name	Required; any length (over 255 characters it can't be backed up)
Description	Optional; any length (the same backup limit)
Tags per account	Unlimited
Tag name	1 to 15 characters, starting with a letter, digit or underscore; unique regardless of capitals; No Tags is reserved
Deleting a single account	Not possible; archive it instead. Delete All Data removes every account

Code screen	Face ID or Touch ID every time; closes after Close After seconds (0 to 300, default 20; 0 never)
Copied code	Stays on the clipboard for 30 seconds; never sent to other devices
Code colour	Orange with 5 seconds left, red with 2

Launch lock	On by default; turning it off needs Face ID or Touch ID; unavailable without Face ID or Touch ID
Idle Timeout	0 (off) or 10 to 300 seconds, default 120

Recovery key	30 characters in 6 groups of 5, 136 bits of randomness, one key per backup, never stored
Accounts per image	20
Copied key	Stays on the clipboard for 2 minutes, and may reach a nearby Mac through Universal Clipboard
Accounts left out	Those with settings the app can't compute, or a name, description or setup key too long for the format
Images	PNG; restore also reads JPEG and HEIC copies, though heavily recompressed or shrunk copies may not read

Import file size	1 MB
Google Authenticator export	One QR code at a time; 6- or 8-digit, 30-second accounts only; no Steam
Export	10 accounts per QR code; 6- or 8-digit, 30-second accounts only; no Steam
Replace Duplicates match	Same name and description, ignoring capitals and surrounding spaces
